We've previously sold Dylon fabric dye for hand washing, and it basically works as it should. But after testing and customer feedback, we're honest with our recommendation: Rit Dye is a better choice for hand dyeing, in any case.
Dylon requires more work, is more sensitive to temperature and agitation, and often produces uneven results. Rit Dye is simply more forgiving. It dissolves more easily in water, is easier to control, and produces a more consistent and reliable result, whether you are dyeing a garment or a piece of fabric by hand.
