Jeans are durable, but holes easily appear on the knees and pockets. Many first-time jeans repairers make it more complicated than necessary, but with the right technique and tools, it's actually quite easy.
Prepare the tools
Start by having everything close at hand.
Have a needle and thread ready, choose a strong thread that matches the fabric. At Knapppålen you will find jeans needles and extra strong thread .
Also have scissors or a trimmer to clean up any frayed edges.
If the hole is large, a piece of fabric made of similar material may be helpful.
Strengthen the area
For larger holes, sew a piece of fabric behind the hole first. This makes the repair both more durable and more attractive.
Sew the hole closed.
Start in one corner and sew small, tight stitches over the hole.
Keep the thread even and avoid too large stitches, this will give a better result.
Finish and test
Tie the thread securely at the back.
Cut off excess thread.
Bend and twist the fabric carefully to check that the repair is in place.
